Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 5.x • Class “JPlugin” and Class “JToolbarHelper” not found errors

Hi all,

I’m getting two errors when disabling the b/c plugin. These are:

• Class “JPlugin” not found
  Class “JToolbarHelper” not found

All extensions are up to date and J5-compatible. I’ve been really thorough about this. Site works perfectly with the b/c plugin enabled.

My site was started in J3.0.3 and the core has been updated with every release since. Migration to J4 and Upgrade to J5 were done from the latest versions of the prior release (J3.10.12 and J4.4.0) and all done in the approved way via Joomla Update, Joomla Next, etc.

A quick search suggests that the two errors are as a result of files not being moved successfully during one of the two major-version upgrades. One thread on Github suggests that the only way round it is a site rebuild

I really, really don’t want to have to rebuild my site. Is there another way, please?
